Matthew Poe is Of Counsel to Hecht Walker Jordan PC. Matt uses his analytical strength and eye for details to dissect every element of a complex case and then consider how to put the pieces of the puzzle back together to make the best case for his clients. Matt is in second decade as a practicing attorney and has the mindset of an
engineer. He works hard, cares about his clients, and enjoys digging deep into the facts and the law for the interests of his clients. These strengths compliment his practice where he concentrates on construction and real estate litigation, re-zoning and land use matters, complex business and general civil litigation matters. Matt has been practicing law since his admission to the Bar in the fall of 2009.

Prior to joining Hecht Walker Jordan in 2021, Matt’s practice centered on expert and fact driven litigation in an Atlanta boutique litigation law firm. Matt learned early on that in the typical “battle of the experts,” credibility is the key, and the depth of an Attorney’s understanding and preparation are critical to ensuring an effective cross examination of
an opposing expert and support for your expert. Matt’s research and analytical skills are key in this regard.

Matt’s educational background is an extension of these traits. Matt earned his Bachelor of Science Degree in Business Administration from Auburn University, majoring in Corporate Finance and minoring in Marketing. Following the footsteps of both his father and his older sister to Athens, Georgia, Matt earned his J.D. as a member of the University of Georgia School of Law Class of 2009. An Atlanta native, Matt loves being a father. When not focused on his work, Matt spends his time on personal construction projects, enjoys the latest immersive technologies, and spends as much time as possible with his beautiful wife, Laura, and their two precious daughters.
